Blackpool day out brings sunshine and smiles to St Quentin Care Homes residents
Residents from a care home in Newcastle-under-Lyme enjoyed a refreshing day by the sea as they embarked on their group trip to Blackpool.
Swapping their usual surroundings for the sandy shores and lively arcades of the iconic seaside town, residents and care staff soaked up the sunshine, strolled along the beach, visited Central Pier and shared fish and chips.
The trip was made possible through donations made at St Quentin’s summer fayre.
Jacinta Greatrex, Home Manager of St Quentin, said: “It was a fantastic and memorable trip for all our residents. They were delighted to spend the day by the sea, in the fresh air, taking in all the sights. Activities like this are very important for our residents’ wellbeing, but additionally, for our staff too. We are incredibly grateful for the kind donations that made the special day possible.”
The St Quentin summer fayre was attended by residents, families and friends who enjoyed live music, a tombola, garden games, stalls and a BBQ.

St Quentin’s Care Homes was acquired by the Healthcare Management Trust last autumn and has already seen significant improvements in care delivery, infrastructure, and leadership.
To celebrate the home’s progress and develop links with the community, St Quentin will hold an Open Day in September. The event will be open to all, including families, local residents, and healthcare professionals, and they will be able to tour the facility, speak with members of staff and enjoy refreshments and activities.
