About The Hawthorns

The Hawthorns, like St Quentin, provides residential and nursing care in a friendly and comfortable environment. There are 31 single bedrooms – one of which has en-suite toilet facilities – and two double bedrooms. All bedrooms have a washing facilities, call system and TV point. Residents can also enjoy access to free WiFi.

The Hawthorns is a grand house that overlooks large lawned gardens at the front of the property. It is fully centrally heated, and two lifts capable of taking a wheelchair should residents require one.

Meals at The Hawthorns

We encourage residents to eat in the dining room at meal times wherever possible. In addition to regular meals, a selection of drinks and snacks are available throughout the day.

For breakfast, choose from a variety of cereals and/or a full cooked breakfast at a time of their choice.

Lunch – 12:30pm

Lunch consists of a nutritious and delicious three course meal.

Dinner (tea) – 5:30pm

At dinner time, choose from a variety of sandwiches and hot options, followed by dessert.

Getting involved

Everyone is welcome to join in the varied leisure activities, both indoors and out. We do, of course, encourage residents to follow their own pursuits and hobbies. And for any green-fingered residents, a greenhouse is available.

Activities

Baking, craft sessions, miniature pony visits and our amazing sensory interactive projector. Some of the many activities available at The Hawthorns.

Entertainment

We have regular visits from singers and musicians to entertain and interact with our residents in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Facilities

The Hawthorns has many indoor and outdoor facilities including a greenhouse, where residents are encouraged to grow and look after plants and produce.

Meeting your needs

We are delighted to have our own Activities Co-Ordinator, Kim, at The Hawthorns, who oversees a range of activities tailored to the individual needs of our residents. Bean bag games, crafts, baking, gardening, bingo, book reading, reminiscence, and sing along are all part of our current activities agenda.

Residents also enjoy regular entertainment from our favourite singers and musicians. We’re also privileged to have monthly visits from Reverend Patrick, who delivers Holy Communion.
